Sheep to Shore

Was sitting quietly on rocks at Machrins beach, Colonsay when a steady single file stream of sheep processed across the strand to the tide line where fresh seaweed had been deposited by the ocean. Hurdling rocks and saltwater pools, the flock feasted on the rich delicacy. Tasty Colonsay lamb is a favourite  treat on the island’s hotel menu, this must explain the distinctive flavour though I’ve not tried it myself.  Fattened up, the ladies trotted back over the sand in an orderly fashion.
