In the far North West

I love Mathers licenced grocers and motor hirers, a jam packed store  under a tin roof in the far flung community of Durness. Beautiful Mani the dog sits outside with his shiny coat and gentle temprament. He is named after a sacred Tibetan stone.

Behind the shop is the magnificent Sango Sands beach. More to come soon, signals are poor but please do watch this space!

Across the fields from john lennon’s holiday house, there’s more Durness colour.

Durness poppies – a riot of colour that lasts only as long as the strong sea breezes allow.
