Midsummer night 2010

‘Life isn’t a matter of milestones but of moments’

I agree with Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, to savour a moment is delicious, though it sometimes helps to remind yourself to slow down and do it!

I captured this scene at West Kirby on the Wirral peninsula last night at around 10pm.  It’s a fantastic place to observe dramatic sunsets, see chapter 14 of 52 Weekends by the Sea.

The air was sweet and people were mellow, couples strolling hand in hand, others walking their dogs, some just sitting on benches gazing at the magnificent reflection of the sunset sky in the flat calm water of the boating lake.  For a while, it seemed that everyone was in the moment and the shared experience was magical.

  1. The photographs are outstanding. I found the West Kirby shot particularly sentimental, arousing past memories of happy times. The book sounds great and should arouse interest worldwide as well as the UK. Congratulations to you both. love Ann
