Bohemian Wales

Ever visited Plas yn Rhiw in Wales? A  stone house with jaw dropping views over Cardigan Bay and Hell’s Mouth. Here the three Keating Sisters waved a magic wand over the tumbledown 16th century house which they bought in 1938. They organised an artistic community and created a sheltered bijou garden.  The house is open thanks to the National Trust, and there’s something deliciously small scale about the cosy rooms with slab slate floors enclosed by thick stone walls.  When I was there the Trust were seeking volunteer gardeners to help maintain this heavenly spot.  If only I lived nearer….
